On a 2 day fishing charter, we depart around 10:00 pm and return 2 days later at around 6:00 pm. The 2 day trip gives us the luxury of time and an opportunity to focus on more of a variety of fish species. Our range on a 2 day trip is significantly improved. If the bulk of the fish starts at around 100 miles, we now have the time to spend there and time to venture further as needed to catch the most of what we are targeting. Also, the night time on multi-day fishing trips is a good time to fish for giant squid and sharks. Quite often as we are cutting fish from our first day, sharks become attracted to the boat and can provide an exciting fight in the midst of the darkness.
